We announce that Terry Albrecht has officially retired as Director of Waste Reduction Partners (WRP).
Terry has been a driving force behind WRP’s mission to provide waste reduction and energy efficiency assistance to businesses and public institutions throughout North Carolina. Jan Hardin is currently serving as Interim Director while we continue our commitment to advancing sustainable practices across the state.
We thank Terry for his years of service and leadership, and we wish him the very best in retirement.

Education:

Terry Albrecht is a Certified Energy Manger, a Professional Engineer in NC, and holds Bachelors and Master's Degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering from NCSU.

Worked in the automotive industry for General Motors and Delphi on various assignments in Engineering and Business Management.  Focused on automotive component products for OEM and aftermarket applications.  Extensive lean manufacturing and business planning experience.

Worked in recycling and solid waste management programs for 17 years.  Worked with the Georgia Environmental Protection Division on a statewide program to encourage recycling and discourage illegal dumping.  Previously worked in the State of Georgia Puchasing Office where she implemented the state's Environmental Purchasing Program.  Also worked as a Promotions Manager and Operations Assistant with the University of Colorado Recycling Services.

Kent Wiggins worked for 35 years with the Division of Water Quality, holding positions ranging from chemical analyst to Environmental Program Supervisor. He recently managed a chemical laboratory retrofit for energy efficiency.

Irena has built a career over the past 12 years as an administrative and customer service professional. Her journey began at Educational Coin Company in New Paltz, NY, where she honed her photography, graphic design, and website maintenance skills. Her next venture took her to Keene State College in New Hampshire, where she delved into managing a CRM system, maintaining reports, and conducting queries related to demographics, finance, and event information as part of the Alumni division. Her diverse experiences have endowed her with a wealth of expertise and a keen eye for detail, which she uses to support the WRP team and ensure the efficient flow of day-to-day business operations.

Education:

Irena continually pursues education in various software and design applications, demonstrating her adaptability and commitment to professional development. She studied English and creative writing at Columbia College in SC. Recently earned a certification in Adobe InDesign from AB Technical School.

Work History:

Kim has a strong energy and international background working in program and project management with Power Africa/USAID in South Africa and the Energy and Environment Partnership.She has managed hundreds of energy efficiency and renewable energy projects across multiple countries. Most recently, Kim has been working as a senior energy and environment consultant for Green Power Technologies in Virginia and NC on innovative renewable energy development projects.
